RESUMEN: Se registra por primera vez una fotografía de la cópula de una mariposa diurna y de una nocturna. El hallazgo fue fotografiado en la Serranía de Cuenca (España central) entre las especies Thymelicus sylvestris (Poda, 1761) (Hesperiidae) y Synthymia fixa (Fabricius, 1787) (Noctuidae) las cuales están separadas filogenéticamente por aproximadamente 120 millones de años.

ABSTRACT: A photograph of a copulation between a butterfly and a moth has been taken for the first time. The finding was photographed in the mountainous region of Cuenca (Central Spain) between the species Thymelicus sylvestris (Poda, 1761) (Hesperiidae) and Synthymia fixa (Fabricius, 1787) (Noctuidae) which are phylogenetically separated by approximately 120 million years.
