RESUMEN: Presento los datos sobre distribución y biología de la especie Spilostethus furcula (Herrich-Schaeffer, 1850), así como del resto de especies del género (S. pandurus, S. saxatilis), que se derivan de las fotografías subidas a la Galería de Invertebrados de la web BiodiversidadVirtual.org. Estos datos permiten constatar una ampliación notable de lo conocido hasta el momento dentro del marco de la Península Ibérica. Incluyo claves propias para la distinción de los géneros ibéricos de la subfamilia Lygaeinae Schilling, 1829 y de las especies ibéricas del género Spilostethus Stål, 1868.

ABSTRACT: I present data on the distribution and biology of the species Spilostethus furcula (Herrich-Schaeffer, 1850) and of the rest of the Iberian Spilostethus species (S. pandurus, S. saxatilis), derived from the photos uploaded to the Invertebrates’ Gallery BiodiversidadVirtual.org web. A significant widening of the so far known distribution in the Iberian Peninsula is observed. I include keys to identify the Iberian genera of the subfamily Lygaeinae Schilling, 1829 and the Iberian species of the genus Spilostethus Stål, 1868.
